FEATURED STYLISTS

Julie Baribeau

Razorcut Specialist

Hi! I’m Julie @julie.b_reveriethestudio - the founder of Reverie.
I’ve been a stylist for 20+ years now, and I love what I do. It’s ever-evolving, and keeps me learning and adapting. I believe in the power of a good haircut, how it can make you feel, and how you can show the world who you are without saying a word. I love teaching my beloved craft to other stylists and am thrilled to add educator to my job description. I’d love to be a Canadian riff on @jayne_edosalon (who I met/learned from at the @elevated_stylist retreat in 2019)
When I’m not at work, I’m probably still working (yeah, I hate hustle culture too, but I’m also a small business owner), spending time with my kids (often gently embarrassing them, or teaching them how to make mistakes), my amazing partner, my friends, or taking photos of my cat, or growing collection of orchids. Food is my love language, Pilates is my outlet, and being at the beach, camping with my family, or enjoying a quiet moment by myself are my restorative moments.
I love an excuse to wear sequins, travelling for education and finding like minded folks and new friends out there. There’s still a lot of work to do to move things forward in this industry - it’s still rife with racism, sexism, homophobia, and toxic culture. I’m trying to do my part a little bit at a time. Pushing myself to do hard things (like putting myself out there on the gram) gets easier and more enjoyable the more I do it. If someone tells me I can’t, I’ll probably prove I can - or just about die trying!
I’m a goofball, a single mom, a softie, a hard ass, a romantic, a master manifester, and an adhd’er with a messy brain, but that’s also my superpower.
Little known fact: I used to ride a motorcycle, but never need to again  (Rhonda the Honda… she was so cool… sigh). One of the best compliments I’ve ever received was my daughter calling me a bad ass!
